Latlonics (latlonics.com) provides free browser-based GIS and coordinate tools. This policy explains what data is collected, how it is used, and your rights as a visitor.

2. Data We Do Not Collect

All coordinate calculations, conversions, and geometry operations run entirely in your browser. We do not transmit, store, or process any coordinates, map data, or files you enter into our tools on our servers.

3. Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site (pages visited, session duration, device type, approximate location). This service uses cookies and collects your IP address (anonymised). The data is used solely to improve the service.

You can opt out via the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on or by using a browser extension that blocks tracking scripts.

4. Google AdSense

We display advertisements through Google AdSense. Google uses cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this site and other sites on the web. You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings or aboutads.info.

5. Cookies

Latlonics itself sets only functional cookies (e.g. your selected map layer and national coordinate system preference). These are stored in your browser's localStorage and are not transmitted to any server.

Third-party cookies may be set by Google Analytics and Google AdSense as described above.

6. Third-Party Services

Latlonics loads resources from the following third parties, which may set their own cookies or collect data according to their own privacy policies:

  • OpenStreetMap / Nominatim — map tiles and geocoding (privacy policy)
  • Esri — satellite and street imagery tiles (privacy policy)
  • Google Fonts — web fonts (DM Sans). Google may log font requests; see Google Fonts privacy FAQ
  • Open-Elevation / OpenTopoMap — elevation data and topo tiles

7. Your Rights

If you are in the EU/EEA, you have rights under the GDPR including the right to access, correct, or delete personal data held about you. Because Latlonics does not store personal data itself, most requests should be directed to Google (Analytics / AdSense) via their respective privacy controls.

We may update this policy as the service evolves. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of Latlonics after changes are posted constitutes acceptance.
